About
Colombia's country estates, ready to book
Rent Fincas is a platform for discovering and booking finca rentals across Colombia: private pools, mountain views, coffee-country haciendas, and lakeside retreats with their own docks. It exists to open up a country house tradition that Colombians have long kept to themselves.
First, what a finca is
A finca is a Colombian country estate, and it is the heart of how Colombians actually spend their weekends and holidays. Picture a mountain villa crossed with a tropical retreat: a private pool, gardens, and often a live-in caretaker, the mayordomo, who will cook you the best meal of your trip. The word comes from the Spanish verb fincar, to put down roots, and families across every economic level own, share, or rent one.
Because most international visitors have never heard the word, the home page starts with that explanation before it shows a single region. Understanding the tradition is part of choosing well.
Ten regions on one map
The platform is organized by region rather than by listing. Ten finca corridors are mapped, from coffee country to lakeside, with guides to places like Guatapé near Medellín, Santa Fe de Antioquia for a hot-climate escape, and Villa de Leyva for colonial charm and desert highlands. Nightly rates start around $50, properties sleep anywhere from two to more than thirty guests, and the Colombian calendar offers eighteen holiday weekends a year to use them.
Pick a region on the map, read what that corridor is known for, and follow through to find and book a finca.
The Veranda
The Veranda is the site's journal, and it is written for first-timers. It covers how to rent a finca in Colombia from search to booking, what to pack for a finca weekend, how to get from the airport to a rural property by bus, private driver, rental car, or ride app, and what to expect from the mayordomo, including what to tip.
It also takes on the questions people are shy to ask out loud: whether it is safe to rent a finca in rural Colombia, and whether a country estate really beats a hotel room on cost, space, privacy, and food.

Part of a small network
Rent Fincas is a WebMedellin.co property, made in Medellín, Colombia. It sits alongside RentFincas.co and The Finca Guide at RentFincas.org, which handles the history, architecture, and culture of finca life in depth. Questions about the platform go through the contact page, and the FAQ on the home page answers the most common ones first.
